Jaw Crusher (JawCrusher) is commonly known as Jaw Crusher, also known as Tiger Mouth. It is a crusher which consists of two jaw plates, the movable jaw and the static jaw, to simulate the movement of the two jaws of animals to complete the crushing operation of materials. Widely used in mining, building materials, infrastructure and other industries coarse and medium crushing operations. Especially it has an important role in the production process of sand and gravel quarry, mining, coal mining, concrete mixing plant, dry mortar, quartz sand.
Introduction of Jaw Crusher
Jaw crusher is mainly used as coarse crusher and medium crusher in mining, building materials, infrastructure and other sectors. According to the size of the width of the feed opening to be divided into large, medium and small three kinds, the width of the feed opening is greater than 600MM for large-scale machines, the width of the feed opening in the 300-600MM for medium-sized machines, the width of the feed opening is less than 300MM for small machines. Jaw crusher is simple in structure, easy to manufacture and reliable in work.

The working part of the jaw crusher is two jaw plates, one is the fixed jaw plate (fixed jaw), fixed vertically (or slightly outwardly tilted at the upper end) on the front wall of the body, and the other is the movable jaw plate (movable jaw), the position of which is tilted to form a crushing chamber (working chamber) with the fixed jaw plate, which is large at the top and small at the bottom. The movable jaw plate makes periodic reciprocating motion against the fixed jaw plate, sometimes separate, sometimes close. When separated, the material enters into the crushing chamber and the finished product is discharged from the lower part; when close, the material installed between the two jaw plates is crushed by squeezing, bending and splitting.

Jaw crusher can be divided into simple swing jaw crusher (simple swing jaw crusher) according to different swinging ways of movable jaw plate. Complex swing jaw crusher (compound swing jaw crusher) and comprehensive swing jaw crusher.
Jaw Crusher Working Principle
As far as jaw crushers are concerned, despite the different types of structures, their working principles are basically similar, only the trajectory of the movable jaws is different. In a nutshell, when the movable jaw plate around the suspension axis of the fixed jaw plate for periodic reciprocating motion, sometimes close to and sometimes leave, in the movable jaw plate close to the fixed jaw plate, in the ore between the two jaw plates, by crushing, splitting and bending the combined effect of breaking and crushing; when the movable jaw plate away from the fixed jaw plate, the crushed ore in the effect of gravity, through the crusher’s discharge outlet.

Principle of Single Pendulum Jaw
The movable jaw is suspended on the mandrel and can swing left and right. When the eccentric shaft rotates, the connecting rod reciprocates up and down, which drives the two thrust plates to reciprocate, thus pushing the movable jaw to reciprocate left and right to realize crushing and discharging. This kind of crusher adopts crank double linkage mechanism, although the moving jaw is subjected to a great crushing reaction force, while its eccentric shaft and connecting rod are not subjected to much force, so it is mostly made into a large machine and a medium-sized machine in the industry, which is used for crushing hard materials. In addition, when this crusher is in operation, the trajectory of each point on the movable jaw is a circular arc centered on the mandrel, the radius of the arc is equal to the distance from the point to the center of the axis, the arc at the upper end is small, and the arc at the lower end is large, the crushing efficiency is low, and the crushing ratio is generally 3-6. Due to the simple trajectory of the movement, it is called the simple pendulum jaw crusher.

Simple swing jaw crusher has a compact and simple structure, the eccentric shaft and other transmission parts are less stressed; due to the small vertical displacement of the movable jaw, there is less over-crushing of materials during processing, and the wear and tear of the movable jaw plate is less.

Principle of compound swing jaw
The upper end of the movable jaw is directly suspended on the eccentric shaft as the connecting rod of the crank linkage mechanism, which is directly driven by the eccentricity of the eccentric shaft, and the lower end of the movable jaw is hinged with the thrust plate supported to the rear wall of the frame. When the eccentric shaft rotates, the trajectory of each point on the movable jaw is from the circumference of the suspension point (radius equal to the eccentric distance), gradually downward into an ellipse, the lower the ellipse, the more biased, until the lower part and the thrust plate connecting point trajectory for the arc line. Because of the complexity of the trajectory of each point on the movable jaw in this kind of machinery, it is called complex swing jaw crusher.

Complex pendulum jaw crusher and simple pendulum, the advantages are: lighter quality, fewer components, more compact structure, the crushing chamber is filled with a better degree of uniform crushing of the loaded material blocks, to the mandatory launch of the lower end of the movable jaw to discharge the finished product, so the productivity is higher than the same specifications of the simple pendulum jaw crusher productivity is higher than 20-30%; the material blocks in the lower part of the movable jaw has a greater up and down tumbling movement, it is easy to present a Cubic shape
Jaw Crusher Structure
Jaw crusher mainly consists of: fixed jaw, movable jaw, frame, upper and lower guards, adjusting seat, movable jaw pull rod and so on. A good understanding of the internal structure of the jaw crusher can play a good role in helping the jaw crusher in the process of use and problems.

Frame
The frame is a four-wall rigid frame with upper and lower openings, which is used to support the eccentric shaft and bear the reaction force of the crushed material, and requires sufficient strength and rigidity, and is generally made of cast steel.
